Governing Body

The Governing body liaises with the Headteacher and staff to develop an effective strategy management process to ensure the school is run in a way which reflects the needs and wishes of the local community.

Targets are set which are appropriately challenging and motivating so that pupils are inspired to learn and to be the best that they can be.

This is all achieved through the structure and implementation of a School Development Plan which ensures a broad spectrum of opportunities for the pupils.

The governing body provides a programme of professional development and support for the staff and empowers the involvement of parents as partners in their childrens' learning.

Governors set and monitor the effectiveness of the budget to ensure today’s money is for today’s children.

Governors measure performance of the school through assessing the ‘value added’ – the measure of pupil learning beyond the expected.

Sue Cordell

Hi,

My name is Sue Cordell and my involvement as a school governor began as a parent when my children were at school and I am now delighted to be a governor at Wragby Primary School where my granddaughter has grown and thrived.

My career, was latterly in initial teacher education for teachers and lecturers in universities and post-16 education.

I hope that I bring transferable skills to the setting where I really enjoy meeting staff and pupils.

Mr Tim Leffler

My name is Tim Leffler and I have lived with my family in Wragby since 2000.  All four or our children went to the school with our youngest leaving in 2010 and they are now all post-university and working. Their current successes were all grounded in the teaching and experiences they had and I have always been a keen supporter of what the school team can achieve for our children.

I was a governor for many years and was involved with many of the developments during this period.  I was on the Board for Mrs Osgodby's promotion to Head Teacher, and I hold the whole of the current teaching and support staff in high esteem.

I was asked if I would consider returning to help out as a Co-opted Governor again and it is a pleasure to return and see that your school continues to grow and be well managed. I look forward to the challenges ahead and to supporting my fellow governors and your teaching staff to maintain the high standards that we expect.

Reverend Mark Holden

Hello, I'm Revd. Mark Holden, Vicar of Wragby and some of the neighbouring villages.
